Now, Stephen's issues have gone far beyond the usual teenage angst, and he is beginning to question his sanity. In desperation, Stephen decides to listen to one of the voices in his head, and it leads him to his first encounter with the Tomorrow People - John, Cara and Russell - a genetically advanced race with the abilities of telekinesis, teleportation and telepathic communication. Trading in secrets, Jedikiah offers Stephen the chance for a normal life with his family and best friend, Astrid, if he will help in the struggle to isolate and eradicate the Tomorrow People. On the other hand, Cara, John and Russell offer Stephen a different type of family and a home where he truly belongs. A new step in human evolution being hunt down by Ultra, a secret organization that hunt this species. There's a shadow war going on but who will come on top the humans or the Tommorow people
I have to admit that at the start of the show, I wasn't instantly hooked. The first few episodes seem to drag, the plot a little juvenile and uninteresting. Predictable at times which is a real downer for me. The characters besides being eye-candy don't really stick. Being OK at best. The story feels like something from a comic book. Missing father, son who suddenly discovers he's gifted then thrust into a world where he is unprepared for and unwillingly but then slowly rises to the part and well you know the rest. Not very original. I know it was derived from 2 franchises already but still I expected something more this being the year 2000's already. Plus since I follow this show together with other shows, I vividly remember putting this in the least priority list often being the one I watch when I've finished watching everything else.

That being said though it does have its moments then but they just did not burn to memoryother series did. I was about to drop it really. I mean it's a hassle for me a student to follow it around especially since I couldn't find a real foothold in the storyline to keep me wanting more.

I'm glad I didn't though. I just recently viewed the following episodes I missed starting from episode 10 (I think. I'm now at ep.17I write this) and I have to say that the show has improved a lot. Aside from the awesome effects which it never fails to deliver, The plot has grown. I really like it. I have to admit the transition was so fast it caught me off guard. I wonder if the creators, producers changed writers or something because if they did then kudos to them because the storyline has gotten a hell and I mean a HELL LOT BETTER. I literally couldn't stop watching from episodes 11-17 which I finished within the day. The characters are getting better. I like how they get new ones that I really find interesting like Charlotte. Although I still am looking for those tearjerker moments, those lovey-dovey scenes, those fart inducing punchlines that I look for in most series, I have to say that it's really getting there. Plot wise it was a MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR improvement. I really enjoyed all the plot twists honestly. The action scenes are cool. I know its scifi themed but a little of those here and there wouldn't hurt right. I mean Smallville is just themed like it but it did have those elements right? That's my two cents on the matter. Just a little more push and I can say the show can get to top 10. Even number 1.

Reading this I know it wasn'tconvincing since I lack facts or "specifics" but trust me. Give the show a chance. It'll definitely grow on you.
I have been watching this, I remember the old UK series and to be honest I am actually enjoying this new version. regardless what others think and disagree.

This series is fantastic, maybe they have never seen the old series or are to young, either way give it a go you may enjoy like i'm doing.

I say this, in all the science fiction series I have seen this is one of the best. I only hope it does not get canceled, like a lot of shows have been in the past.

If you are an avid fan of science fiction, then this is right up your street, the effects are fantastic, acting too, give it a go you will not be disappointed.

Yes, it is a remake of the British sci-fi series The Tomorrow People (1973) which was created by Roger Price and ran from 1973-79. The US series is actually the second remake,Price himself oversaw a British remake (also titled The Tomorrow People (1992)) which ran from 1992-95. Yes, although there are still many similarities and the general concept of the series remains the same. The original series began with the Tomorrow People comprising John, Carol, Kenny, and their new recruit Stephen. John is the eldest member of the team and he was the one responsible for building TIM, a biotronic, sentient computer which aids the team and can augment their powers. In the original version, the team still represent the next phase of human evolution and are called homo-superior, in contrast to the rest of the human race who are homo-sapiens. Their powers included teleportation (called "jaunting"), telekinesis, and telepathy. "Jaunting" over long distances was done with the aid of a belt (later a bracelet). The team's goal was to assist other Tomorrow Peoplethey "break-out" (i.e. when their special powers become active, usually in adolescence), and they operated from an underground base called The Lab which was situated in an abandoned part of London's Underground Rail Network. As wellEarth-bound adventures, the series featured several stories set in space and on alien worlds (the team were affiliated with a Galactic Federation which was analogous to the United Nations). New Tomorrow People joined the team on a regular basis, though there was never more than four or five team members at any one time.

In the US remake, the main characters still include John and Stephen, though Carol is now called Cara and Russell appears to be the closest analog to Kenny. Again, Stephen is a new recruit who joins the team to assist othersthey "break out", though we learn Stephen's father was also a Tomorrow Person which is not something the original series did. The team still operate from an underground subway base, though it is not referred to"The Lab"in the original, and there are far more Tomorrow People who inhabit the base. TIM is also present in the new series, and was again built by John, though looks different to the original version. Again, the Tomorrow People have psionic powers, though teleportation is not referred tojaunting in this version and does not require a belt. Newer powers are also seen, suchStephen's ability to stop time. So far in this version, all of the Tomorrow People's activities have been set on Earth and there is no indication of a Galactic Federation or even extra-terrestrial life.

In both versions, the Tomorrow People have an adversary called Jedikiah. In the original version, Jedikiah was a shape-shifting alien robot who later took on human form. In the US remake, he is the uncle of Stephen and is a high-ranking official in an organisation called Ultra which aims to hunt down all of the Tomorrow Peoplethey are perceiveda threat to homo-sapiens.
